Took my frenchie for his annual per a friend’s recommendation. Very happy with the treatment we received. Pricing is average, personnel is friendly and helpful. Dr. Zue is a delight and clearly knows the ins and outs of my breed. Didn’t push hard for surgery to “fix” his breathing or neuter him - that topic gets old fast. Was helpful with suggestions to help with his allergies. My kind of vet 😊

Summary: My kitten got an abscess where they gave him a shot. They didnt provide me the relevant information before deciding how to treat the abscess and fooled me in to paying for an x-ray. Some of the staff were rude. Took my kitten in for nueter and a shot. Several days later he developed what appeard to be a huge abscess on one of his front legs. I scheduled an apointment to have it examined. I asked if they gave him the shot near the location of the swelling. They assured me that they dont give that particular shot on the front right leg and suggested an x-ray. I asked if they had a record of where exactly they gave the shot but they told me they dont keep a record of that. I asked if it might be an abscess from the shot but they assured me they dont give that particular shot in the leg that was swollen and insisted on an x-ray. Ofcourse the x-ray came back clean, they charged me $200 and told me to call back if it didnt go away. Several days later I call to schedule another apointment because the swelling isnt going down. Guess what that doctor told me. "It turns out we DID give your cat a shot in that leg. My bad". Credit to this first doctor who owned her mistake but now im out $200 because I wasnt given accurate information to make an informed medical decision for my cat. Before the second apointment, the giant abscess bursts and is a huge nasty mess. I bring my cat in to have it all cleaned and sorted. This is where I get to meet the owner/ lead doctor. I voice my complaint about being oit $200 because I wasnt given accurate information regarding the treatments my cat has recieved in their care. This is where she tells me "Hind sight is 20/20". Well, it doesnt take a clairvoyant to see why its important to have the relevant medical information before making a decision. Side note: the older woman who works the desk was rude to my wife and I.

absolutely the best vet experience i’ve had with my bird. I was going to a different vet that supposedly specialized in exotic animal care and was not at all happy with my experiences. I went to Family animal hospital of friendswood and was blown away with how knowledgeable they were! They immediately started testing, talking to me about my birds health and routine, texted me links to products they suggested for my bird, and even showed me how to give him medicine. When i explained i thought he didn’t like the taste of the medicine they mixed one up with cherry syrup and let him taste it to see if he liked it! You can really tell they care SO MUCH. Dr.Zoo and the team at family animal hospital are amazing.

This place is a joke. I was in there for them to check my dog’s ear for infection. He has this consistently and vet would treat him with medication. This vet decided that they want to pull his ear hair when I told them that he will get groomer to do that the day after. The tech told me no let them do it because they can do better. In other word , she wanted to make money out of it. The vet went and did it and my dog was in pain and bleeding a lot with so many abrasion and inflammation. The vet told me that this is normal for bleeding . I told her never ever many times for ten years groomer and taking him to the vet have anyone cause this problem. I took him to another vet the following day and they clean out his ear and so much blood and inflammation. They told me that is not normal ! They gave him pain medication and inflammation medication. Amazing that they consistently lied that this is normal . Even my groomer from the old place told me that is a bad job that caused the bleeding . They refused to refund me back my money, I end up having to spend a lot of money on medication for his pain. Don’t go here if you love your pets!!

We recently left our long time vet after several bad experiences. We gave Family Animal Hospital FW a try and it was such an amazing experience, such a relief! They didn't treat us like just a transaction with upselling (I'm looking at you Friendswood Animal Clinic) but they actually cared about me and about my boy, Max. They were sweet, they were gentle, they talked to him, and most importantly they asked questions and actually listened to what I had to say. Crazy: They didn't have a cold metal exam table and old plastic chairs in the exam room, but a nice comfy couch and cushy ottoman that they used as the "exam table" (see pics). Yes, in the exam room! Max was super comfortable and at ease. But the thing that really got me in the feels was when I watched the Dr. and her assistant get down on the floor with Max for the examination. Look, I'm a dude and don't get emotional, but at that point I was so moved that I LITERALLY started crying. Thank you Family Animal Hospital. There's a reason why the first word in your business' name is Family. You can't possibly know how much the entire visit meant to me. It's so, so, so good. We'll be bringing Max and our other 4 pets to you from now on.
