Pearland animal cancer and Referral Center has been a true blessing during one of the hardest times in my life. For the past six months, my dog Sullivan has been receiving chemotherapy here, and I can’t imagine going through this journey anywhere else. From the very first visit, their team made us feel like family. They treat Sullivan with so much love and compassion, and their kindness extends to me as well. They always take the time to explain every detail of his treatment, answer my endless questions, and make sure I feel supported through it all. The vet techs and staff go out of their way to make Sullivan comfortable and happy, even on tough days. Their patience and genuine care are unmatched, and it’s clear they pour their hearts into every pet they treat. Thanks to them , Sullivan has had the best chance to fight his cancer while maintaining his quality of life. I’m forever grateful for their expertise, compassion, and dedication. If you’re searching for a place that treats your pet like their own, this is it.

If you are reading this, you’re most likely a deeply loving pet parent who is facing one of life’s most difficult, painful challenges. I’m writing this review for you because I’ve been there, too—wrestling with overwhelming feelings of despair and helplessness; poring over reviews through tears; panicking about treatment options and who you’ll trust with your precious fur baby’s care. If you believe in signs, please consider this your sign that the people at PACRC are who you want in your & your pet’s corner. Our beloved husky mix, Pearl, was diagnosed with lymphoma in November 2023, and I truly cannot imagine what this journey would have been like without the wonderful human beings/veterinary professionals at Pearland. We’re the type of dog parents who are extremely particular about who cares for our dog (she’s never had a sleepover with anyone other than my parents), but we trust the folks at PACRC implicitly with our baby. Dr. Kaiser’s bedside manner is impeccable, and her philosophy aligns with our own: that your pet’s quality of life is paramount. Dr. Kaiser extensively explained Pearl’s diagnosis and walked us through each treatment option, then provided up-front cost estimates. Yes, chemo for your pet can be costly, but we never once felt pressured into anything, nor was the cost of treatment ever misrepresented. From the very first phone call to book an appointment, through the highs and the lowest lows, and even as we approach the end, Dr. Kaiser and team have been nothing short of incredible. In addition to best-in-class oncological care, we’ve been met with an abundance of compassion, kindness, and genuine empathy—even (and especially) on the days when I sobbed and ugly cried in an exam room. I want to specifically thank the crew that we’ve worked with extensively: Dr. Kaiser, Alex, Ana, Jaclyn, Jose, and most of all, Taylor (who's pictured in the precious selfie with Pearl). Pearl loves them, and they love her. They gave us hope when we had none. They gave us another year with our baby girl—a good, healthy year—and she will see her tenth birthday because of them. I will be grateful to the PACRC team for the rest of this life and into the next. From one devastated pet parent to another, I’m sending hugs to you and pets to your fur baby, and I hope you find your way to Pearland.

Sadly I do not think there is a good feline oncologist in the Houston area. We were working with an oncologist in Sugar Land, but after a couple appointments we had to find another place in both handling and medicine they weren't cat knowledgeable. Our family vet referred us here. While they had way better handling practices here the hard selling seems pretty out of control. I was very clear up front we needed to maximize at home care so we can minimize car trips my cat was very upset by car rides. After a few weeks of an at home cancer medicine I let the vet know he wasn't making any progress. It was too soon so we kept up with the treatment when we returned I let them know his mass was expanding. They don't do any exam in room with you so I had now way of showing them or confirming we were looking at the same thing. Dr Robins said it wasn't expanding very much and I shouldn't be concerned. We continued to administer meds and his mass continued to expand this time on our return Dr Robins was very absent. He couldn't keep track of who we were, what medications we were using or anything else he just kept apologizing and giving incorrect information and then giving different information. This was a really weird appointment. We decided to try IV chemotherapy this was sold to me "since we are already there." I decided to purchase the treatment and went to wait. At the end of the day my cat hasn't gotten his treatment and I was asked to come back in two days. I dropped him off and got a call almost immediately. Dr Robins was still going through whatever he was going through that was causing him communication difficulties which was all very terrifying because not only did I have no idea why I was called back but I was kept waiting and waiting just for him to start talking about dogs then snap at me and be unable to explain what's going on. They basically said he's dying, but also wouldn't really give me any kind of reason. I could see he was struggling the stress of the completely unnecessary car ride probably caused him some type of issue. Things happen not everything is going to be perfect especially when dealing with life and death, but it's pretty unforgivable they continued to try to hardsell the IV Chemo when they had already decided he was past the fray and I had already told them I wanted him to pass with our vet at home. Not only did they not respect my wishes when I was willing to try a same day treatment, but to try to continue to put him through what is entirely unnecessary treatment on my poor dying baby was just too much. I can deal with flakes and poor scheduling, but I had already paid for two appointments where the vet just acted in a very bizarre fashion and wasn't available to consult with and they still wanted more money and were willing to do an unnecessary treatment to get it. I sincerely hope in the future they can put animals first, but maybe this type of treatment is a complete scam so it's no different to them if the animal is up for it or not and they are "doing it for the owners." Maybe they thought because I was so willing to spend I much be rich, but I'm permanently disabled and will be paying off what I spent here for many many years. Like many disabled people though I just thought my constant companion deserved the best care possible, but I probably failed to find that.

Our corgi has been receiving lymphoma treatment here. The doctors, technicians and office reception are all so kind, knowledgeable and go out of their way to help you navigate a sad, challenging situation. They offer many treatment options and help you feel informed enough to make important decisions. I hope you never have to receive their service, but if you do, they provide excellent care and compassion.

Dr. Robinson and staff (Taylor in particular) are extremely knowledgeable in their field of canine cancer. We were given the facts, the options, and were able to ask questions and receive detailed answers, as they were not in a mad rush by any means. In fact, I believe we sat for a diagnostic Q&A for close to 45 minutes. They take into consideration the pet’s attitude and personality - meaning they handled our anxious vizsla with extra care and attention so he did not go into an anxious adrenaline high. Other places are notably not this considerate of the pet’s feelings. I’d highly recommend this cancer center for your pet.
